First KPOP Concert: 7 Things to get you ready!

If there's revenge travel, well there's also revenge concerts/festivals. Since the start of the year, we've had about 24 international artist concerts and about 7 of those are KPOP related.

While many may think that all concert preps are the same --- We will tell you now, IT'S NOT.  There's a different type of preparation required for your first KPOP concert. And with that, we round up 7 things that might help you for your first KPOP concert!

1. Prepare for ticketing day

Unlike other artists, KPOP Ticketing is one of those things where you truly have to prepare and psyche yourself.  Ticketing for K-concerts mean being online at least an hour before the opening of tickets or you would be lined up in ticketing outlets a day (or two!) before the actual ticketing day.

2. Twitter

You best source of information and fast updates would be Twitter.  Simply key in your hashtag or name of the concert and updates would sure pop up.  In here, you would also find different fan bases organizinf ticketing lines, fan projects and other activities pertaining to the concert.

3. Know your venue

Most KPOP concert goers are already familiar with venues such as the Mall of Asia Arena and Smart Araneta Coliseum.  However, newer venues such as the Philippine Arena are also getting dates booked for different concerts.  We would suggest looking up your venues days before.  Also, always wait for announcements from the local producers for landmarks, where to line up or if there are pre-concert activities on d-day!

4. Prepare your OOTD

While fashion is everything,  COMFORT should always be top priority.  Once a concert starts it could get really hot and suffocating specially in the standing section.  Make sure you are dressed to survive long hours of standing and maybe even a little bit of pushing (it can get pretty rough in the pit!)

5. Prepare CASH

It's always best to keep cash in handy.  While more and more establishments accept credit cards and electronic money such as GCash and Maya --- connection isn't always available in most concert areas. Make sure you have enough cash on hand just in case internet connection fails.

6. Stay Healthy

Bulk up on vitamins and make sure you're eating well. Ticketing day maybe a few weeks or days from the actual concert day so make sure to be healthy and ready for d-day!

7. Enjoy

On d-day make sure to get the full KPOP concert experience.  Go around, collect freebies (maybe even give some yourself), make friends and follow rules and protocols of the organizer. Taking fancams is a great way to document your experience, BUT do not forget that the best way to enjoy it is through your own eyes and not your screen. Put the phone down once in awhile and give your eyes and ears a feast!
