Concert Essentials: Your ultimate concert checklist!

It's literally concert season! Whether you're a KPOP fan or just a music fan in general.  From idol groups like Super Junior to western artists like LANY --- fans all over the country are just excited to finally (1) see their stans again (2) finally use the tickets they purchased 2 years ago, but was cancelled because of the pandemic.

Speaking of the pandemic, here's a list I've put together to make sure you're armed and ready come con day! While some of the things I will list down are already part of the basics (and is probably in the announcement and reminders of concert venues and prod groups) I've added a few things that we've used in events during the height of the pandemic.

1. SMALL BAG

Make sure to check announcements and reminders from different venues and production groups.  Different venues may require you to use a certain bag size or what not.  Take MOA for example who only allows bags that are 12" x 12" or smaller.

2. Cash AND Cards

During the pandemic, online and card transactions were strongly recommended.  But you're an avid concert goer you will notice that lately there have been numerous announcements of ticketing outfits only accepting cash. This is what Rai experienced in the B.I OFFLINE FAN MEET pre selling of thickets. Just to be sure, bring both. Just enough cash to cover expenses for the day and maybe just ONE card for back up.

3. VALID ID

I remember my aunt scolding at me for not bringing a valid ID everytime we go out.  She would always say "Ano ba yan! Wala ka man lang pagkakakilanlan" (Translation: You don't even have anything to identify you or prove your identity) -- This is very important as there may be instances that this will be asked from you by the entrance.  Make sure also that the ID you have with you has an emergency contact --- if anything happens (but of course we pray that nothing will) people/rescuers will be able to inform your emergency contact.

4. MASKS & ALCOHOL

In this age of (I would like to say) better normal -- this is a no brainer.  ALL establishments, restaurants and of course event venues require to still wear you masks. It's also best if you pack an extra with you because you never know what will happen to the one you're wearing with all the shouting, jumping and maybe even crying.

5. TISSUE/WET WIPES

After all those singing, dancing, laughing --- trust me. You're gonna need it.

6. SMALL SURFACE SANITIZER

Not a lot of people do this since you already have your alcohol, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to also bring something that specifically sanitizes surfaces and other areas.

7. COVISPRAY

So, during the height of the pandemic --- projects in the events industry became a dangerous job.  We'd be out and about executing events on ground putting at ourselves at risk.  Some members of our team did get the virus, including me. We've been always on the lookout for ways and/or products to protect ourselves as much as we can. Covispray is one of the products that has been a staple in our prod kits. Be careful of fakes though! Buy them in official online stores or you can get some from Watsons or South Star Drug.

8. VACCINATION CARD

I usually just keep a PDF copy of my vaxx card on my phone.  But, it would be better to have your physical card with you just to be sure.

9. TICKETS

OF COURSE! Do not forget. As early as now, keep it in a safe place! Make sure also that the prod / event organizers don't have some sort of special instructions when it comes to your tickets. Find out if you're still supposed to claim something prior to the concert or if you purchased online, you might need to get your online receipt exchanged for the physical ticket.

10. POWERBANK / EXTRA BATTERIES

You're phone and lightstick batteries won't have that adrenaline like you do. Remember to bring them to make sure you can capture all those moments. Extra batteries also for your lightsticks so you can be a part of that lighted ocean!

---
I would be hypocrite if I say things like "keep your distance" or "don't remove your masks" --- this is probably something we cannot control given all the excitement and adrenaline in concerts. But, end of day we need to remember all these health & safety protocol.  The virus is still out there. Let's all enjoy these concerts responsibly!
